I was overjoyed (to say the least) when these lovebirds from NYC asked me to shoot their Sanara Tulum Jungle Wedding in Mexico. Surrounded by palm trees and the blessings of their closest friends and family, Joyce & Chris officially became husband and wife!!
So why Tulum? This is where J & C took their first vacation together and where Chris popped the question. Read about their sweet wedding proposal:
We visited Tulum in January 2018 for our first vacation together. We returned in November and visited a restaurant we had fallen in love with during our first trip. After being called out from the restaurant by my mother to tend to my friend who wasn’t “feeling well”, I walked into the art gallery next door. A few moments later, Chris walked in- to my surprise- and went towards the back of the art gallery where there was an actual painting of him, down on one knee!!! He pulled out the little black box and shared his sweetest sentiments. Completely shocked, I cried rivers of joy and sadness (I hate surprises- so of course I said no at first)! After some laughter, I happily said “yes”. We returned to the restaurant where they had champagne bottles with sparklers waiting for us and the DJ was playing “I think I Wanna Marry You” by Bruno Mars. It was just perfect!
Because they had a surprise wedding at home, J & C opted for something more intimate for their Tulum wedding with the people they love. The ceremony at Sanara´s secret garden was very emotional and sweet. Portraits followed and the night continued with a family affair.
